This poem is best appreciated after reading “Caribbean Cruise”.
let the seagull
carry your smile,
make the wind
ease its journey
across the sea,
let the sun cast
its golden shine
when the seagull
returns to shore
and to me
i sit on the sand dunes
where restless waters
churn my dreams,
i wait for time
and feel the sun
burn my life away …
maybe the seagull
will not come today,
then till tomorrow
i will stay
storm clouds appear
and waves now foam
in their new found
rising restlessness
while i am lost
so far away in lands
where brilliant seas
bask in bluer skies …
but wait, a seagull far off,
is it what i see?
the sun has come down,
it is about to kiss
the churning tides,
and the wind is cooler,
i feel it on my face …
or is it the ending
of another day
among the sands
that cools my blood
and dash my life?
