to paint the dappled suns
that touch your face
and the ticklish winds
that ruffle your hair,
to paint the strains
of music that you hear
and fill my canvas
with your twirl
to capture your thoughts,
your breath, all of your dreams,
and mix the colors with my life;
to seal the canvas
with varnished kiss
and keep your portrait
locked forever
in my mind
what dreams i dream of you,
if i can paint them on canvas
and live inside whatever i dream;
what verse i write,
if i can blend them with colors,
fluid in softly murmured rhymes;
to paint you whole on canvas,
this canvas called my life
