Although there is light drizzle falling
this evening in the twilight hours,
I feel uplifted because the clocks
get put back one hour to Greenwich Mean Time,
which means a longer night to write:
a shorter day for the sun to glare
and a restful awakening at dawn.
G.M.T. is right for my circadian rhythm
and the sun is at its zenith at mid-day,
not still climbing in its trajectory
across the crystalline morning sky.
