This poem was inspired after reading Elena Sandu’s “Snow Drops” which is published on PoemHunter.com. Elena’s poem describes the Rumanian tradition of giving Snow Drops to a woman in exchange for a kiss and then giving a thousand more for the rest of the Spring.
i place my first snow drop
at your doorstep
but find there already
a thousand more
shall i just then crush
my little flower
and forget what
you once said?
till your first
snow drop
becomes
my last
shall i?
