(limerick) Yet Another School Year (1944)
I proceeded on down the corridor
School lookin’ horrid and horrider
I espied then some teacher
(Someone should beach er)
Appearances Sordid and sorrider
I was yanked by the neck from the stairs
Introduced to the rules and affairs
Though not marked… ’twas one way
I was singledout to pay
Final straw thing and garnishing glares
Ah but things they then got even Personaler
The school bully he spotted me mercenaler
He called for tribute
Why then rootety-toot
I flipped him. He did a dirt chewsener
See, this was of course in the yard
He was hoist on his pers’nal petard
The passing girls giggled
In a neck-hold he wriggled
I’d enough of the guff of this lard.
Well he soon got him tired of eating
The mud and the grass (time was fleeting)
After serious discussion
Which came after cussin….
We thought bullying not worth repeating
I’d been recently treated for stuttering
And consequently wound up in uttering
The words and a scream
By Old Pew and t’would seem
Treasure Island’d an actor (some buttering)
(I was somewhat loath to appear on a stage)
I’d a choice between Latin and French
The strain it was something immench
Thinking ‘Three Musketeers’
I signed on for three years
With a skinny detestable wench
(to be continued after some length of time)
