Whispers on the train,
Calling my name,
Faces in the woodwork-
Watching, leering at me.
Luminous plants
Popping up all over.
Dissociate, can’t move,
Frozen-body and mind.
Then I saw a group
Of little children playing
Ring o’ ring o’ roses,
Circled, all around me.
Dressed in pinafores,
Laughing faces grey
Somehow I knew
They were mocking me.
Pushed the button
To cross the road
Looked back-
And they were gone.
That is when I knew-
They were never there,
And I needed help,
I got it.
