Glaciers melt, bulging when the oceans,
The days when longer get, good heavens,
When Earth’s bejewelled crown—
Moon pulls it further down,
Whose concern? Safe enough my grandsons!
And we here duly dead
In long run, why break head?
‘Nough fire-fight there’s to do soon at once.

Added to this is Moon’s gravity, causing the same effect. Yet, in a century from now, the day’s length will increase by mere 1.7 milliseconds! But who’s worried about such a long term event?
