Pendulum in stasis
A life lived out in stills
Cinematograph.
If only Time had motion
Andinstant recoils.
Or my song
The power of resurrection.
On the Rialto now
I lean and pour into the water
A melody you know. And
Briefly does your face appear,
As pale as yesterday,
locked in pericarpal sorrow.
Orpheus’ lyre alone
Could loose you from the water.
But ripples form, fragmenting
What is there and once again
You slowly disappear.
