Lying empty, ocean deep-
lines on the wall, shadows in sleep.
Footsteps linger outside my door…
walk by this room once more.
Leaving salt from the ocean one night;
sandcastles we built are out of sight.
If only I could touch the sun with my hand…
If only I could see your face in deserted land…
If only if I were to drift away…
Would I come back to stay-
or would I be washed upon Memory Bay?
Would I see you there-
lying next to me?
Holding you forever-
could never be.
Holding back,
we try to outrun the rain.
Losing track,
you’re the ghost on this getaway train.
