The Kiss Of Conscience….

that dawn
Conscience wakes
you up

but you were
still insistent on
deep sleep

you were so tired
the day before
and the bed was
so warm and the
pillows so soft
and the scent of
sleep was simply
irresistible

half awake you
listen
and what She told
you was
so essential about
living

something about
an incoming death
which gives you
some convulsions

you are shaken and
then you finally wake
up for that much
needed glass of cold
water

She was so vivid
about it
you can even feel
the kiss that landed
on the cheek of air
on that very cold
dawn where the curtains
are drawn.
