Part 2 of The 1950’s series
Skip and Buddy, Junior and Chuck
Decided one day to test their luck
And so, they formed a street-corner quartet
The neighbourhood kids said it was the best yet.
While Buddy sang tenor, Junior sang bass
And Skip did falsetto, while making a face
And Chuck sort of sang from an in-between place,
While he stood with one foot on his guitar case.
They huddled together under the lamplight
And sang harmonies well into the night
Always hoping there’d be a talent scout near
To make them an offer within the year.
