Tall, balding and in his early fifties,
Alois B. lived on 43rd Street.
It was a late Friday night in early spring
that he discovered his erectile dysfunction.
The following day
he decided to consult a specialist.
The sexologist turned to be
a fairly young and attractive woman.
“What is the reason for your visit? “, asked she.
“I cannot get it up”, said Alois blushing.
And, ironically enough, he became aroused.
“Well, we will discuss this in depth”,
said the expert.”And by freeing you
from your irrational fears,
depressing anxieties and felings of guilt,
you will regain your sexual competence.”
Alois kept visiting the sexologist
but to his growing frustration
his erectile dysfunction worsened.
Eventually he became so annoyed
and angry that one sunny afternoon
he shot the psychologist.
Alois ended up in prison for his crime.
While serving his long sentence he underwent
a series of medical examinations.
During his incarceration a medical doctor
informed Alois that, rather than
psychological reasons, such as anxiety
or stress, his erectile dysfunction was caused
by vascular issues.
“Your impotence is caused
by somatic problems”, explained the doctor.
They impair your blood vessels
and limit the blood flow in your body.
Thus your sexual difficulties
result actually from your diabetes.”
