I hear the grasses heavy with morning dew
I hear-whispers willow roots in the night
Snaking like a slow worm on rendezvous
But most of all I hear your heart-ignite
Like a variable star—pulsating!
Ah, and in its unwinding mystery
My own begins to pause in lovemaking.
Much calmer now yes it was jittery
But love, it never stopped beating for you.
Why can’t you see or hear a pin-fall
My feelings I’ve got, don’t subdue.
Like salmon chasing a high, waterfall
They strengthen the longer I’m with you
They don’t vanish with the morning dew.
Pin-Fall
