How I love a country evening
The sky a brilliant red
I say goodnight to my cows
Before I go to bed
Fence posts dressed in black
A nearby church is black as ink
Mostly the fiery sky I see
Pitch dark is on the brink
My favorite tree is huge now
Looming against the crimson sky
Nothing now is stirring
Not a bird, a bee or butterfly
Today has left in lovely style
Tomorrow is on its way
Time to tuck myself into bed
To get ready for another day!
