Amidst decorations sat
The expectant mother
Her teeth gleamed in jasmine smile
As guests and greetings poured in
She had her hand on her belly
Which the balloons around envied
It is a boy, the doc has said
A future footballer perhaps – he kicks
The baby shower went on
With music, dance and fun
An evening went crimson
With birds chirping in unison
As mom and dad rejoiced
Brooding the baby reposed
Head down, eyelids closed
His whole being verily light condensed
A light that would soon blossom
Into a world of many
Follow a karmic design
On creator’s great fabric
Wish him well guests
May all that he sees
Be auspicious and may he
Walk an earth that is paradise
Strewn with flowers and silk
Peace, Peace, Peace!
