A wondrous shooting star, I seen,
On a cold dark winter night,
The year was nineteen ninety nine,
It’s memory shines so bright.
They say it speaks of change to come,
For those who catch this sight,
I watched in awe, the splendour,
As it trailed it’s tail of light.
I wondered if my life would change,
For better or for worse,
Would I receive some blessings,
Or would I find a curse.
Or maybe life would carry on,
Routinely, just the same,
A day to day existence,
Content to play the game.
The changes came as prophesised,
The wondrous gift was mine,
For love came with the comet,
In nineteen ninety nine.
