The cat sits on the loveseat
And the dog lies on the couch
Their eyeing one another
In a deadlock for the house
The cat stairs rather acrid At the pup who looks perplexed Though the dog could rinse the cat It’s the cat who should be muzzled
There perched within their countries
In their claimants furniture
Neither scheming nor conniving
To annex the others stature
It’s late and they both know
That there cold war is now expiring
And they rest in peace most certain
Night is their sanctum for thanksgiving
