I’Ll Read Your’E Poem If…….. Oh O.K……..

I ‘ll read your poem if the title appeals to me.
Not because you’ve asked me to.
I’ll read your poem if I can readily see,
That you work hard at what you do.

I’l read your poem if it’s a sharp little ditty,
Not because you plead with me.
If it’s well written sharp and witty,
And it calls to me why can’t you see?

I’ll read your poem if you spell words right,
And your words make sense to me.
Not if you boast of your poetic might,
If you do I’ll let it be.

You don’t need me to be a success my friend,
Your words are all you need.
There are no e-mails you need to send,
If your ego you must feed.

I’ll read the poems the young folks write,
Because their minds are fresh and clean.
And being so young they don’t lose sight,
And most of the time they are not obscene.

So just write your poems and post them here,
Let them stand on their own.
Someone will read them, never fear,
Though they be dry as bones.
