The morning eye of the sun found me at dawn,
like a sparrow awake and blessed in mother nature’s nest.
As I worked in the flower garden by the cornerstone red rose.
It didn’t have any thorns for me just new red colored leaves,
and it seemed rather pleased that we both were still alive
from when it was planted there after our house fire in 1999
I dug up some stones and cleared away some weeds
as I prepared to sow some new summer flower seeds
The birds were singing in the morning breeze,
as the eye of the sun dawned upon me,
in the flower garden by cornerstone rose
with red new leaves
