The days of yesterday,
so far away
the time of youth,
seems like a dream
time changes things
with it memories, it brings
time like progress
you can’t stop it
tearing down memories
I don’t like it a bit
remembering the days
of downtown movie houses
in the balcony, or front row seat
seeing a double feature and girls you’ll meet
days of seeing ball players
playing for fun
days of yesterday
when a man’s word met something, with no delay
those days are gone
forever in the echoes of time
searching them out,
and wondering why things came about
