To Be Different From Most

To be different from most should never be a crime
Reflecting on what others think of you seems a waste of time
Since it should not be your business what others think of you or say
Just do your own thing and live in your own way
Why worry about the judgmental of the town
Though today in their words they are dragging you down
And though sad for to say their type not of the few
Tomorrow to verbally drag down they will have someone new
The wish to be liked is a natural thing
But not everybody your praises will sing
Of you there are always a few with unkind things to say
Humanity always does work in this way
Just remember that some in their thinking can be rather small
You may well win many but you cannot win them all.
