August in the Moyne Shire in the wind and the rain
The tiny frogs singing in every pond and drain
Late Winter and early Spring their breeding time of year
And they sing to tell of rain and when rain is near
The coastal Moyne Shire it is looking so green
And Nature at her finest is to be seen
When the magpies are singing by day and by night
Their beautiful warbling a source for delight
With much needed rain and Spring ever near
For the Moyne Shire farmers it has been a good year
Much of eastern Australia in drought the land thirsting for rain
Why the Moyne Shire is so lucky beyond me to explain
The cattle on young Winter grass gaining weight by the day
And Spring from the Moyne Shire is not far away.
