Three years in the blue
Dark sea, rough waters
No lifeboat in sight
Three long years
‘Til one day I felt sunshine
Felt warmth
The light in me
The light without me
Looked around and saw
Colours, spectrum of a rainbow
Friends, waving to me
I found my way to land
Sat down, right there
And laughed laughed laughed
Until I cried
For me and my three lost years
Then I picked up a pen
And wrote and wrote
About the blue, about bliss
All I had seen
I had found my lifeboat
Anchoring me to life,
To laughter unburdened
And I was happy.
