Sonnet: When Death Is Imminent…

For elderly, the time has come for death
To cut the string of life in various ways;
Time ticks and ebbs away quite fast since birth;
Most senescent on earth do count their days.

You cannot hoodwink death by any means;
Sometimes, the youth has premature an end;
At times, you see the ghost in dreamy scenes;
To death some day, some way, we all must bend.

When death is imminent, some minds are dead;
The love of living gradually ebbs off;
The soul that’s pure will keep a level head;
When end-times come, only the fool can laugh.

The righteous need not worry any bit;
Such people for heaven are always fit.
