The more the devil tempts, let me do good;
Let me tire the devil all my life;
Give me O Lord, Thy protective Gracehood;
Give me O God, Thy help in any strife.
To live on earth is Heaven’s anvil-test;
The devils hound all men by night and day;
And man by nature fails despite his best,
Attempting yet, to stay in Heaven’s way.
Man struggles hard: his reward is Heaven;
The life of Bliss for Man eternally;
The life of permanence with God for men,
Abode of God to reach most ideally!
With divine help, one’s success on earth’s sure;
With God as Guide, no devils can one lure.
