Who exactly are the
Strangers
of this world?
Are they really the nameless beings
that surround us?
Or can they be closer to us, and still be
Strangers?
I am more of a
Stranger
to the people who know me,
than I am to those who
don’t.
I know that much.
And this is why I would willingly
enter a car with a faceless anonymity
at the wheel, despite being told it is wrong.
A stranger who knows nothing about me
cannot hurt me as much as those who do.
The unknown is not dangerous and scary,
but exciting and interesting; there to be explored.
In this world, we are all strangers to one another,
and, indeed, to our very selves.
