I love to take our morning walk though rarely now is there much talk,
The coolness of the morning breeze, God tangible, I think, in trees,
Where He enjoys our company, short stops, no judgment, don’t you see,
As we breathe in each flower, dew, that like us have brief lifetimes too.
Our memories so short and yet, the gift of life’s hard to forget,
Diversities in people too are humbling, new points of view
Arise like blossoms in a field, their colors wild, earth’s bareness healed,
Its nakedness, in fact, a sin, blank parchments poets can fill in,
If not with words, some garden plant, let mute earth too not say, “I can’t! “
But praise the father, son! Recall, creation’s juices fill us all!
Though moments come when we get scared, God grant that we are still prepared,
To shine like rainbows (not past tense) , God’s promises! Trust God’s defense!
