A thousand poems before breakfast
A thousand more after dinner
The nightjar is nonstop from dusk till the dawn
On top of the charts, it appears he’s a winner
Please, do not envy the cardinals,
For his color and crest came with a cost
Though the albatross lives in a breeze above land,
It would be wrong to think he is lost
Though you are changing your feathers at will,
You craving for attention gives you away
Please get a life or maybe a wife,
Get you some rest and sing in the day
