To banish fear is still my wish,
to care not for tomorrow’s dream.
And yet that too is but desire,
a whim to fly above the crowd.
But I must roam the night alone,
and deep within a darkened grove.
And I do fear eternity,
for blackest midnight is my home.
So take me from the world of light,
without companion for my voyage.
And I will bravely face this fear,
as hand in hand it is my guide.
For night has lessons it may teach,
that far exceed a dreamer’s reach.
