You stood before me, a rose in full bloom
Lips red, ripe cherries wet with moisture
I kissed away the ambrosial liquid
Inhaled your scent
It filtered into all sinews of my being
Seeping right down to my bone
Within me bloomed a thousand flowers
There on, whatever dreams I had
Were of yours
Whatever songs I tuned
Were all about you
In my dreams, I walked with you
We roamed along the Milky way
And danced with the virgin stars
We together watched the russet sky
Adrift on the ocean of emotions
Through the meadows and woods, we rambled free
Heard the songs of birds chanting of love
You filled every atom and every fibre in me
And lifted me to an irrepressible buoyancy
I saw the still waters reflecting your image
I heard the breeze whispering your name
I sensed a tuneful melody in every cosmic beat
I saw the universe painted in many hues
With startling vividness when you come into me
Each time I feel the sweet sting of Cupid’s shafts!
In no way, I will barter this sweet ache
For any other treasures of the world!
