Overcoming Death-Like Pallor And Exhaustion

Any given day, there is some violence or contempt destroying the desired joy we all hope to achieve;
There’s cold ugliness and abandonment on callous streets where love vanishes and hope retreats;
Perhaps, one day we’ll die in an unforeseen moment and pedestrians will walk over our bodies like discarded trash;
every kiss comes to an unwelcomed conclusion and every sacred memory is doomed to the outskirt corners of the past;
our hearts begin to fade like ancient photographs sitting silently in sunlit suburban windows;
and the only answer to the overwhelming sadness is to discover some personal redemption within;
one has to create their own mystical, protective charm and define their own purposeful reason to exist;
I’m living alone now remembering a woman’s eyes, and maybe that will be the last thought on my last night
but I’m determined to see myself through any afternoon discouragement and descending midnight gloom.
