Gone now those, so holy strong

That held the scepter at the pews
In chirpy choirs sipped at dews

With so many churches Florence strewn
Under those amazing domes just a few

At buss stations some soulful jazz
in the piazzas above razzmatazz

Doors soar up to lofty arches
winding alleys in daytime dark

Cobble stones echo clickety clack
A soulful howl in a drippy shack

fear and pain from masters whip
Chinking chains from a slave ship

echo glorious buildings a telling wail
rings through blood a curdling tale
