Ah yes, I’m used to being very lucid
I’ve always been crystal clear
just to get my message across
No obscurity I tend to bear.

I don’t enjoy spinning complex webs of words
labyrinthine poesy puts my mind into a maze
Rarely do I complicate my stuff
to put your grey matter into a haze.

So usually I try not to be even a cryptic crypto-critic
Through smooth roads do I drive my point home
But I don’t really mind being more eclectic
in carving and crafting a poetic dome
I can’t speak cabbage when writin on carrots
I donot ever digress from my topic

Ah, my poems and poetry I tend to paraphrase
and I try to employ a lot of candour
So both amateurs and professional can glean from my candid ways
for my succint works ain’t no brainteaser.

Even when I go in deep waters
and write poetry that’s intense and quite deep
It’s still comprehended by both laymen and scholars
coz’ mine has a rise and fall of the steep
(they can always cross where it’s not too steep lol’)

yet indulging in other’s poetic intricacy
is luring me too to go abstract
So for a change I’ll try out this delicacy
and will veil and mystify my fact

I’ll try to rack and rake your brains tortuosly
might just keep you guessing forever
I might apply verbiage and jargon for a change
and opt for grandiloquent endeavour

Wonder if lots of gumption as such is required
to throw this game of chance javelin at readers
Complexity and ingenuity might be inspired
but I leave that to leading poetry leaders.

Perhaps I’ve already acquired a taste for the sublime food for thought
but penning arcane poetry is not really my cup of tea
I love to fascinate myself by reading them
but I prefer not to brew the difficul’tea’ of abstract poetry.

So I can’t forever be gnomic in my work
Not for long can my poems be gobbledygook
I can’t be moving the goal posts for me nor you readers
Catch my cod with an uncomplicated hook.

And though my poetry may at times sound didactic
but I simply say what I simply must
before returning to forgettable dust
A homily becomes shorter when tis but poetic
to prevent even hearts of gold from gathering rust.
