Righting self in the middle of a country-western song
as it carries hearts along edges of a tired life, now
traveling down a beaten trail not fit anymore to be
traveled down.
Seeing at least, reasons for leaving it behind, wonder-
ing why it hadn’t been done sooner, thinking to keep on
flowing so this mere poet could wander through life, just
holding onto things that were important.
