Those Who Have No Sons And Daughters….

i built a nice house
on top of a hill
i bought a new car
flashy and
more expensive this
time
i have a beach cottage
and Sunday’s are
best

i have saved more money
and invested in more
business than i can
imagine

my future is gleaming
i am proud and dignified

and then here you are
trying to demoralize me saying
“you have no son” but
i am not touched at all.

all the sons of this
world are my sons
all the daughters of this
world are my daughters

i have an empire and
it will be all theirs.
