He saw the mountains which laid in front of him
He knew that hike he would undoubtedly fail,
But, he forgot the mountains which stood behind them
Which alone he already did scale.
He sees the miles that are left to walk
So, he doubts that it can be done by this one man,
He doesn’t have the strength and he desires to balk
He forgot those miles he trekked before his journey began.
He forgets the oceans of the water that he’s swam
He figures that his journey is already done,
So, he decides he’s nothing more than the proverbial, “I am”
But, his true adventure has not yet begun.
