Time was impatiently waiting for taking me with
On our way we found a river lay close to death
With a giant heavy dam on it’s chest
Like a heavy stone held on a serpent’s trunk
Blocking breath and sound by throat
Her tired eyes moved slowly and turned to us
and struggled to say in feeble and vague voice,
“Thinking of a spin and mighty turn to shred the weight
I have been waiting for a golden day to get.
I dreamed on the small smart streams darting towards me
Making my darling tributaries and rejuvenating me
But my heart sunk realising they were factory effluents.
They poisoned my blood and endangered my friendly species
Greedy men cruelly inflicted wounds and cuts all over
Like hungry wild dogs tear off flesh from limbs.
They filled the sore cuts with polluting stuffs
My banks of sand bed turned to bed of mud and wastes.
The emitting bad smell distracts living beings
No birds fly over me, no wind comes this way.
Its only decades ago the spring last passed by
I am sorry, I can’t give you at least a glass of water
To drink and relieve from thirst and the hot sun
I am too tired to think of hospitality and charities.
Kindly do a favour to this dying darling of nature
Please wet my dry lips and hot throat
With a drop of pure water”
