They say you have forgotten,
But, when I ask who am I,
You say you’re my soul, my heart,
My first born, begotten!
They say you can’t remember,
But when you see a child,
You speak as if you know her,
And hug her as if it was I.
They say you’ve lost interest,
But they don’t see through you,
Not knowing you still dance,
The ballet moves you always knew.
They say you’re different now,
But when I give you a hug,
It’s always the same arms,
The same heart, same love!
They say, they say, they say…
But they better have a clue,
The cannot give you names,
When they just hardly know you.
They know nothing about you,
They just saw you forget a name,
A year, or history you once knew,
Concluding what’s you is not you.
They say you can’t remember,
But they don’t have a clue,
Your love’s more alive than ever,
Your arms are open, your heart, true!
So worry not my heart, my soul,
Your memories are locked in a safe place,
You, my ballerina, my hero, my idol,
You will always remember how to dance!
