If you could not move
for one entire year
but your eyes could see
your throat could swallow
both your ears could hear
and your tongue could taste
Would you groan, “survive, “
or would you live life?
Could you heed music
taste beyond bitter
see yourself inside
wash down the manna?
Would the rock crush you
or would you travel
where legs cannot go?
Would you feast in that
without pause darkness
seeing the unseen
Boulders assertive
they make decisions;
they’re irrational.
Edema can kill
but as for the will
rocks it can shape still
