The women on the island had no resistance
As the skull and cross bones was seen from a distance
Pirates coming to spend their fair share
And how it was spent they didn’t care.
Just having their rum, women and wine
To them was just fine.
Many shouted ‘ we sent the kings men to hell “
While others bathed to get rid of deaths smell.
The kegs of ale filled the room, there was no sorrow,
There was no gloom.
This was the life given to them betrayed by the king and his men.
Taxed till they could pay no more, and begging for scraps
From door to door.
Then the time came while sitting in the tavern
That a sea faring man spoke of captain Gavin.
The pirate that the king feared the most
And a bounty on his head from coast to coast.
Men flocked around him to hear what he had to say
‘ if you join Captain Gavin you’ll get a days pay “
They all left that same night and becoming a pirate was shear delight.
They say he learned to duel while in Spain and with each bout
He grew in fame.
Women clamored for his attention, and husbands seeking
their wives redemption.
His gallivanting had to come to an end, when he killed
One of the kings men.
With no place to hide he boarded a ship that sailed to Jamaica
Picked up goods when they dropped anchor.
Now the ships captain was an abuser ofthe crew
And the men didn’t know what to do.
When the captain took a whip to Gavin – Gavin saw red
Picked up a wooden Billie and cracked open his head.
