Voyaging through the azure convex of heaven
On pinions of dawns afterglow
Chased by a surf of cantering iridescence
As Icarus leapt the sky’s tow
The Plastic Flowers that you forgot to send me
Began to weep in cellophane
Dripping with honey in a lackadaisical yellow
Of the weltering sun mandarin
Poor Venus de Milo was beside herself because
She couldn’t play patty cake
Watching a band of nervous harlequins dance to tarantism their mystical malaise
Serendipity sprang and broke half her calf
Chewing gum over her Bad luck
And father time struck, his head with his arrow
Parking his mendacious pride
Still no one invited the sad jack in the box
To yell surprise or happy birthday!
In the maple cathedral the pageant of pixies
Clandestinely sung nights serenades
And the pessimists found his dancing shoes
Underneath the neon Zen Marquee
When the junk box swung, the bitter judge hung
This hearts feet found a soul with a beat
