It’s better to have faith in all and be mislead,
And bewail that faith and that misleading,
Than doubt one’s character that, if believed
Has hallowed one’s life with a steadfast believing.
Oh, in this contemptible society, too fast
The wicked skeptic overtakes the youth,
Better to be mislead to the very last
Than destroy the reverent hope of truth.
