We always spread pure butter on our toast in the morning,
Strong tea, with a large dash of hope and love entwined,
We were like a surprise parcel, so carefully bind,
Secrets, dreams, past internal scars all to find,
We chatted like best friends with hardships endured,
When people were unkind.
I learnt from your wisdom, goodness,
And your dancing agile mind,
Floating on a line of clouds,
You made every day so fine,
You had experienced many tribulations,
But your loving nature, always swept away any negativity,
Replacing it with elation,
Giving us all lots of attention,
Your care was a gift to win.
When we would open the back door,
The enchanting lure,
Of the perfumed scent of beautiful roses, wafting in from the garden,
The roses bloomed for you,
With delicacy, colours vibrant with memories that will never cease,
Petals falling gracefully in the morning breeze.
