Your smiling face, fresh with life’s sorrows and pain,
With past rejections, dismissal, digging deep into your psyche,
Your emotions tied in an unbreakable chain,
You have a rigid, routine that gives you control and power,
As you live in your own ivory tower,
Your past is a veil across your far-reaching, blue eyes,
That hold the agony of endless, past lies,
Destroying your sense of freedom,
Chained to memories of destruction.
But you give light to my eyes, like soft roses in full bloom,
As I open up to the warmth of your sunshine, in our bedroom,
Vivid, elation, caressing each other’s bodies, so fine,
Like drinking the best of vintage wine,
We bring up the past and dissolve it,
With our love that carries us to the here and now,
Pushing us forward into our destiny of hope, that is our vow,
With our truth on display, we conjure up plenty of fun,
We are not lost anymore in a desert of scorching sun,
We live now in a green, fertile valley, cushioned by the mountains,
Crushing barriers, our freedom is our enlightened eyes, we have won,
We have fought with love laced with care,
As we embrace the mellow sun.
