Sunshine is polishing so fine, over this sweet land,
With a shimmer that glimmers like golden sand,
The sun is like a giant, overripe peach,
Dripping with strong rays,
Across all the Irish bays,
With plenty of glistening skin,
Just like marble, on display.
I’m in a landlocked phase,
With inward uncertainty, in a settled haze,
Longing for the ocean,
With still my dreams in motion,
Ideas lunge towards me, as I try to make them seem unreal,
Living in a stagnant ebb,
Like I’m immersed in a complex web,
Trees free my enclosed spirit,
With the rustle of wind, shaking undernourished thoughts,
Longing for more freedom,
That can’t be bought.
In this sunny season, when at times I have no reason,
Just loving you, is seeing me through,
A complicated wave of surging problems,
With relentless force,
Eating away at our hearts source,
I feel I have to teach you to change course,
So that our love will be complete,
But will days in the shade,
Be our defeat?
