On The Name Of

“I shall serve till my last breath
Even if that invites dreaded death”
Such was oath ceremony taken by soldiers under promise
That life could be laid for motherland without any noise

The soldier is incomplete without oath or vow
That has been made compulsory now
It might be continuing from the olden days
Modern day army has its own rules to extend sway

We swear in the name of country
Ask for protection from the almighty
Wish that prosperity descends from heaven
Rules people and offers happiness even

Army has its own moral kit
That does not always fit
On civilians as they tend to change sides
Bank of spoils and love to divide

It is lack of understanding
It needs proper way of mending
People should be subjected to need of an hour
The country may witness crucial years

Large number of people lack basic amenities
The poverty is almost not visible in cities
The villages suffer the lack of infrastructure
We see here real threat for future

The leaders speak something and follow something else
The country heaves no sigh of relief and remains tense
There is lack of confidence and urge to corner natural wealth
This spoils total economic zone and stagnates countries health

Let us vow to defend people and land
Let people be called one and remain as friends
There is no scope for any kind of division
On the name of color, caste, creed and religion
