On Very few things we do seem to agree
For you look at life in ways different to me
The company you keep ranked well above mine
You drink top shelf liquor and I drink cheap wine
We live in the same World and breathe the same air
But what I see as not quite right to you seems quite fair
Nowadays ’tis only a hello when we meet
We never do stop for a chat on the street
We were friends for awhile till we drifted apart
But loss of your friendship I don’t take to heart
We’ve got little in common things can be that way
When we meet on the street just a passing good day
We were friends for awhile but that is in the past
And few things in life ever does seem to last.
