Why are we here
Asked old Ted
Scratching his head
Studying his beer
I don’t know
Answered rod
Gave the dog a prod
With his toe
The dog slept on
In a time lag
With a gentle wag
Dreaming along
It dreamt of bones
And chasing cats
Chewing postman’s hats
And more happy tones
No aim to his life
Living all at ease
Doing as he please
Enjoyment was rife
It may seem extreme
I’d give all I could give
Just to be able to live
In that dogs dream
