I remember you, standing before me,
Lined up on the steps of the school,
Offering my insatiable young sight
The seductive vision of your harmonic figure;
And the absorbed swaying of your brown braid
Was the snake that mesmerized my senses.
It was not me to pull it, as you understood at once,
But when you turned around, with barely a
Frown of disapproval
The charm of your eyes hit me
As the announcement of land over the horizon
A castaway.
And since then
That memory has warmed my soul.
