Sonnet- The World Behaves Differently

The world around me looks topsy-turvy;
Men have forgotten God, honesty, love;
The worldly-wise are lazy and envy;
The righteous souls who live God-willed from above.

The world won’t encourage the artists new;
Nevertheless, they place hurdles and blocks;
The honest souls these days are found but few;
Loathes the boat at sea, the ship in docks!

The need for wealth goads people to the brink,
Of risks and disasters that maim one’s life;
And people hoard for future, food and drink;
There cannot be life without any strife.

And lost has man, his peace of mind and heart;
Discontent always, he tends to depart.
